With a rich family history of homebuilding since 1905, you could say that building is in John’s blood. In fact, from Forest Hill and Rosedale to the Annex and Moore Park, hundreds of estate homes have stood the test of the time from dedicated and skilled generations of Vaughan builders. Today, John is proud of the quality workmanship, valued partnerships and well-respected team of experts tied to the Vaughan Build brand. From renovations and restorations to new residential and commercial projects, Vaughan Build ensures the building process is a positive, seamless and professional one.
James kicked off his career in the early 2000s while working with his family to grow a successful residential design-build company in Muskoka. When he moved back to Toronto in 2015, he worked for several luxury custom home builders, and later landed on solid ground at Vaughan Build. With 20 years of expertise in custom home building and renovation work, James manages all aspects of client projects with precision. He enjoys spending time with his family on the water in Muskoka in the summer and on the slopes at Blue Mountain. He also cherishes his evenings at his son’s hockey and soccer games.
Brendan has always had a deep passion for all things real estate and residential building. While his experience as a project manager spans across several sectors, including real estate, finance/investing and multi-residential renovations, Brendan is equally proactive in business development and strategy at Vaughan Build. He fosters excellent communications skills while working effectively with marketing, social media and customer relations management teams. In his spare time, you can find him playing or watching sports with his three young boys, training for an upcoming Ironman challenge, family bike rides and travelling.
William has more than 15 years in the construction management industry in the high-rise, commercial, infrastructure/development and residential sectors. As a professional carpenter, he applies his expertise to site preparation and safety, structures, custom builds and high-level finishing. He leads teams as a supervisor in renovation projects, managing them through the full cycle of work, from planning, design, resources and execution to closing with 5-star customer reviews. When he’s not working with his carpenter tools, William enjoys spending time with his daughter.
Neal operated his own company, Dunn-Right Contracting, for 14 years before joining Vaughan Build. That experience has elevated him to supervising heritage home renovations and multi-residential construction, as well as fostering long-standing relationships with skilled professionals in the industry. He brings passion and pride to every home build and renovation project. Among Neal’s strengths are planning, scheduling and working in synergy with clients, trade partners and designers. He enjoys the outdoors camping, fishing or hiking.
Tom has 40-plus years of ICI construction experience. He has overseen the construction of millions of dollars worth of successful projects from start to finish while working within strict timelines and budget requirements. Tom brings a high degree of organizational skills, dedication and extensive expertise in analyzing and solving complex problems. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf.
Wayne Turgeon brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his role as Controller at Vaughan Build. A graduate of Concordia University in Montreal with a Bachelor of Commerce, Wayne began his career as an external auditor for large accounting firms, gaining valuable insights into complex financial operations. Since the mid-1990s, he has specialized in providing accounting, tax, and consulting services, building a reputation for precision, integrity, and strategic financial management.
Outside of work, Wayne enjoys cycling, umpiring, and skiing, reflecting his active lifestyle and commitment to teamwork and discipline. His diverse experience and passion for excellence make him a key contributor to Vaughan Build’s mission of delivering exceptional construction services.
Mimi is an integral part of the team, responsible for maintaining the company’s financial transactions, including reconciling bank statements, processing payroll and generating financial reports. Her attention to detail and accuracy ensures that the company’s financial records are always up to date. In addition to her financial duties, Mimi also manages administrative tasks, office facilities, and important information and documents. Her organizational skills and positive approach help create a healthy and productive company culture. Mimi is a team player who enjoys contributing toward the company’s growth. Outside of work, Mimi enjoys spending time with her three children, travelling, skiing, kayaking, and hiking with her dogs. Her passion for the outdoors and love of adventure reflects her positive attitude toward life and work.
Rafael is a Journeyman carpenter with over five years of experience in rough carpentry and three years as an Assistant Site Supervisor/Project Coordination in construction management. His expertise spans various project sizes, from small residential to large commercial buildings, and has been involved in all stages of architectural design and construction. He is currently pursuing an Architectural Technician advanced diploma at Centennial College, where he leads the college’s Architectural Club (L.E.A.D) as the Executive President. In addition to his professional pursuits, Rafael enjoys writing poetry, watching black and white Hollywood movies, playing sports and listening to classic Spanish Salsa music.
Before coming to Vaughan Build, Matthew completed the Home Renovations Program at Skilled Trades College of Canada. He’s responsible for assisting the site supervisors on all residential and commercial projects to ensure projects are completed within timelines while exceeding client expectations. His day-to-day tasks include, but are not limited to, demolition, painting, framing, minor repairs, cleaning and organizing the site throughout the project. He enjoys playing sports and going to the gym.
